Our SS23 Journey

Our SS23 Journey

This month saw the launch of our latest collection, Florals for Spring, featuring our favourite brands from Miista to Mundaka, with most having U.K. exclusivity here at The Norah Store! Continue reading to learn a little bit more about the process involved in the curation of our SS23 collection...

One of the core values of The Norah Store is to provide our customers with complete transparency about where their clothes come from, and to shed some light on what the journey (all the way from their creation, to their new homes) looks like! This way we can help to assure all of our shoppers of the love and care that goes into these pieces in the hope that this love is continued throughout the future life of the product. We love being sustainable huns and you should too!

Our SS23 journey began last July in Barcelona, where we met with longtime collaborators Mundaka. We loved trying on all of their pieces and hearing about the inspiration behind the collection, which helped to inform us on the small selection we wanted to share with you guys. The brand is run by a small team of two, with designer Belen Vidal sharing a similar vision to ourselves, consisting of a love for womenswear composed with traditional cuts and wearability in mind, without a compromise on that fun and youthful essence. All of their products are made in Belen’s hometown of Murcia in an ethical factory staffed by quality artisans and makers. We love seeing how this brand has grown and continues to inspire us! Another stop we made during our trip to Barcelona was to the showroom stocking Caro Luna, where we first fell in love with this gorgeous Spanish brand, and their range of swimwear that features in our SS23 collection! Buying swimwear isn’t always the first thing on the minds of (fellow) U.K. residents, however it is important that we invest in these pieces just as much as any other essential item, in the hope of many future holidays to come! Last minute shopping, which can be common for bikinis, leads to a lack of love for the pieces that we buy, and ultimately isn’t the most sustainable decision. Across our small selection we have swimwear for all, from gingham wraparounds, to stylish and sophisticated costumes in summery chartreuse! Take a look here…

We paid the Miista studio a visit for the first time in September last year to make our selection for SS23, and they have since grown to become one of our fan- favourite collaborations. It’s always a tough job narrowing down our favourites from their ever- dedicated collections, but pieces like the Billie Loafer, with her chartreuse leather and chunky heel, jumped out at us immediately! We also ventured into slightly techier territories with Miista this summer, with shoes such as Eunice which push comfort and practicality to the forefront, and Tawny, whose chunky rubber sole is robust enough to face varying conditions. Plus classics like Malene are back, in a sexy new cherry red colour-way, and whilst boots might not be the first thing we think of for the summer, we can guarantee that you’ll struggle to ever take these ones off! See those, and the rest of our styles, here…

Salut Beauté are a brand we have long lusted after, feeling that their chic updates to workwear would have a perfect home at The Norah Store. We were lucky to be able to visit them during Fashion Week in Paris this year, where we left with smiles on our faces after viewing their latest collection, The Air Uniform. And it isn’t only old aesthetics that salut beaute pay homage to, as all of their pieces are upcycled from vintage materials, fabrics that were once loved and are now ready to find a new home. Shop the new collection and keep your eyes peeled for some more exciting news we have to share about the brand soon!

Our ‘Florals for Spring’ SS23 vision was superbly captured by our wonderful team in time for the launch of the collection, marking the end of one journey, and the start of the next! Seeing the whole collection together, styled amazingly by Giulia Bonometti in collaboration with The Norah Store, put into perspective the love and care involved within the curation of this collection, and we were happy to share this with some of you at the soft launch at our favourite natural wine spot, Kerb, towards the end of March. Whilst you await the announcement of more events, where you can come and get a feel for the pieces in person, we hope that you keep shopping and sharing the love online! <3
